Club Competition Rules

Competition Committee : Alan Wells and Alan Castle

    General : -

 

   1.  All competitors must wear Greys with White above the waist.


   2.  All rounds must be played on or before the date given.


   3.  It is the responsibility of both players to agree on the date and time when they can play

        the round.


   4.  It is the responsibility of the first named to book a rink and find a marker.


   5.  It is the responsibility of the winner to put his name on the Competition Sheet.


   6.  On the date given for the end of the round the Competition Committee will check

        whether all the games have been played. If a game has NOT been played the Competition         Committee will decide on what action to take.


   7.  Any difficulties in arranging a game should be brought to the notice of the

        Competition Committee as soon as possible.


   8.  The Competition Committee’s decision in all matters will be final.


Individual : -


Championship

Open to all Junior, Full and Life members. Only men may enter the Championship.

Players have 4 woods each.

The winner is the first player to reach 21 shots.

   The winner receives the Championship Cup.

   The runner-up receives the Jessie Crocker Cup.


Handicap

Open to all Junior, Full and Life members.

Players have 4 woods each.

The Competition Committee will handicap each entrant according to his ability.

e.g.  Handicap of 0 (scratch), player starts normally and plays to 21 shots.

       A handicap of +3, player starts with 3 shots and plays to 21 shots

       (total of 18 shots).

   The winner receives the Handicap Cup.

   The runner-up receives the Aspden Cup.


Two Wood

Open to all Junior, Full and Life members.

Players have 2 woods each.

This is a 21 end competition.

   The winner receives the John Spry Cup.


Pairs

Open to all Junior, Full and Life members.

Players have 4 woods each.

The Competition Committee will divide the entrants into 2 groups, skips in one group and leads in the second. Pairs will be drawn randomly from alternate groups.

This is a 21 end competition.

   The winners receive the Osbourne Cup.


Military

Open to all Junior, Full and Life members who have not won a club singles competition.

Players have 3 woods each.

The winner is the first player to reach 21 shots.

   The winner receives the Military Cup.


Featherstone

Open to all Full and Life members who are over 65 years of age on Opening Day.

Players have 4 woods each.

The winner is the first player to reach 21 shots.

   The winner receives the Featherstone Cup.


Mixed Pairs

Open to all Junior, Full and Life members and any member of the Ladies Club.

Players have 4 woods each.

The Competition Committee will divide the entrants into skips and leads according to there ability. Pairs will be drawn randomly from alternate groups.

This is a 21 end competition.

   The winners receive the Mixed Pairs Bowl.
